Redirection Exchanges
This booklet documents the work and conversations emerging from the Inheritance and Redirection workshop led by Alexandre Monnin, within the School of Public Architecture’s 2025–2026 theme, The Waste Lands of To-Morrow. More than a report, it captures a collective moment of reframing: designing with inherited conditions rather than against them. Situated within the long aftermath of modernity, the workshop addresses landscapes shaped by decay, ecological overshoot, and obsolete systems. Monnin’s concept of “negative commons” reframes these as shared responsibilities. Through exchanges with ongoing studios, the booklet gathers fragments and questions, foregrounding architecture as a practice of care, responsibility, and redirection.
