Biography
Liu Chang is an artist, educator, and writer. In recent years, Liu Chang’s research has focused on cutting-edge technology and museum experience design. Her teaching focuses on combining digital technology with the aesthetics of integrated media, spanning on the directions of generative art, graphic design systems, exhibition design, and user experience design. She utilizes computational methods, such as creative coding, physical computing, cutting-edge interactive technology, and other digital media to implement the interdisciplinary integration of art and technology in the experiential classroom she advocates.
Liu Chang’s artistic creation involves interactive installations, artificial intelligence art, innovative materials for digital art, exploring the relationship between nature and technology. Chang’s works have been exhibited in the National Museum of China, Shanghai Power Station of Art (PSA), Pudong Art Museum, Today Art Museum, A4 Art Museum, Carroll/Fletcher Gallery (London), FOU Gallery (New York), etc. Her works and art reviews have been published on Shanghai Daily, Yishu, Art World, Art Review, and Artforum, etc. In addition, Chang established her cultural podcast channel called “Tomorrow Museum” in 2023, which focuses on topics around museum and exhibition designs related to cultural topics. The podcast is developing fast and getting influential, receiving widespread attention from both inside and outside the industry. Chang’s monograph of the same name, 《Tomorrow Museum》, will also be published in 2025.
