Biography
An interior designer by qualification and a design enthusiast by choice, Fiza is a postgraduate from the prestigious Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, Italy. She started her career as an interior designer in Mumbai, India after which she practiced from the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Having worked on a range of project typologies including medical, hospitality and corporate design, Fiza’s expertise lies in retail design, with a host of successfully completed projects in the African regions of Mauritius, Kenya, Madagascar and Seychelles to her name.
Since becoming a design educator, Fiza has developed a keen interest in design pedagogy, and projects that create a dialogue between art, architecture & design. Her daily conversations with learners and fellow educators instigated in her a passion to create safer spaces and healthier communities that promote human health and wellbeing through culture and integration of art. She is currently working towards the WELL Accredited Professional credential as her commitment to advancing human health in buildings and communities.
Fiza’s current teaching interests include design theory, evidence-based design, design for learning facilities and degenerative disorder facilities.

Academic Experience
Fiza has been a design educator for the last five years, teaching a range of design courses at Curtin University’s Mauritius campus in the Interior Design program delivered by North Metropolitan TAFE, Government of Western Australia and Pearl Academy’s Mumbai Campus. Fiza has also been the Course Leader at Pearl Academy’s Mumbai Campus where she directed academic management for the postgraduate program in Interior Design and Styling, validated by Domus Academy, Milan.
