Biography

Jeff Poon has worked for more than twenty-five years in the fields of design, advertising, and interactive media, with substantial experience in managing, directing, designing, and teaching in the U.S.A., Hong Kong, and China.

Before joining Wenzhou-Kean University, Poon served as a professor of graphic design for the Guangdong University of Technology, SCAD HK and Shandong Normal University. Poon also served as a Regional Graphic Director for the respected design group EDAW, which later became a part of AECOM, the first place in E.N.R.’s “The Top 150 Global Design Firms” since 2010; as a web producer for Pandaplanet.com, a portal with a total investment of more than HK$ 100 million, worth HK$ 6.6 billion after being built.

Poon has worked with clients from around the world, including ABN AMRO Bank, AcrossAsia Multimedia, American Red Cross, Business Environment Council, Cheung Kong Property Development Ltd., Climax International, Crédit Agricole Asset Management, Dairy Farm/igo, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, HK-BEAM Society, Shanghai Industrial Holding Ltd., Sound Ocean Group, SPACE Asia Media (EngageAsia), VTech, Wui Tung (H.K. & Macau) Shipping Ltd, Yves Saint Laurent, etc.

Research interests

Poon’s research focuses on design theories, web and interactive design, design management, with particular emphasis on design education reform.
