Thinking Creatively Conference 2019 – Exhibition
On the afternoon of May 8th at 6:30 p.m. The third Thinking Creatively Conference of Michael Graves College of Wenzhou-Kean University was officially opened. The exhibition is centered on three different themes: vernacular and tectonics culture, digital manufacturing, culturally informed product design and brand design.
Many well-known architects came to the scene, including KIM In Cheurl, director of Achium Studio in Seoul, Korea, Patrick Burke, partner of Michael Graves Studio (MGAD) in the United States, Chris Chan, director of MRY Shanghai Studio in China.
They were all speakers at the Thinking Creatively Conference. Patrick Burke is a well-known architect with 35 years of leadership experience in MGAD. Michael Graves Studio in the United States has participated in campus planning and design of Wenzhou-Kean University. Chris Chan has more than 20 years of practical experience and is responsible for the design of Ge He Kai Hall (Michael Graves College of Architecture and Design) of Wenzhou Kean University. Being able to communicate with design masters on the scene is an excellent learning opportunity.
The models of this exhibition are all made by professors and students from the Department of Architecture of Wenzhou-Kean University and each model has devoted a lot of effort to them.
This exhibition gathers a variety of creative design works. It is organized for students to see more international and professional design works. It is a professional and diverse art design exhibition, which is helpful to stimulate students’ imagination and curiosity and provides direction for students’ future career development.
In addition to the exhibition, a series of activities of the Thinking Creatively Conference includes lecture series and the exciting Let’s Charrette cross-disciplinary competition was successfully organized. Please follow the official website for other relevant news reports.
